There has been a lot of buzz lately about living on a Cruise Ship full time as an alternative to living in a retirement home.

However, I don’t think it would be very exciting after about 6 months or so.

Ships, even Cruise Ships, are noisy for at least 2 reasons:

1. Engine Noise. No matter how new the ship, no matter what new turbine engines the ship may have, the 24 hour engine noise may get to people.

2. Parties, bars and restaurants. There is always a kind of party atmosphere on a Cruise Ship, people eat and drink too much, nobody tells them when to go to bed, they don’t have to get up the next morning, so, parties make noise.

It gets boring staring at the ocean 2 out of 3 days.

Although ship’s activities are very many these days, after a while you’ll get bored with them.Cabins in general are very small, so after a while you’re going to miss your large living room on the mainland with its 75″ TV.

However, if 6 months are too long, there are other alternatives; Cruise maybe a couple of months a year.

If you follow that action things become interesting.

Here are some options:

The Monthly ,000 route:

Residensea, the world’s only floating Condo, a 47,000 ton cruise ship which sails the oceans, reportedly offers staterooms for rent for as low as ,000 per month.

This Cruise Ship has designer apartments with original art.

I mean, this is luxury personified.

Great if you can get it.

Around the world in 102 Days.

By small Luxury Cruise Ship

In 2005 a trip around the world lasting 110 days could be had for as low as ,600 per person. That is 0 per person per day including food and all facilities. That is 00 per couple per month.

This same couple would spend a minimum of 00 a month in an old folks home.

So going on this 3 1/2 month World Cruise would cost them 00 – 00 = 00 per month.

Now let me tell you what this 00 for 2 people gets them:

The Itinerary:

Southampton,Tenerife – Canary Islands St Vincent – Cape Verde Islands Fortaleza – Brazil Rio de Janeiro – Brazil Montevideo – Uruguay Buenos Aires – Argentina Puerto Madryn – Argentina Port Stanley – Falkland Islands Cruise around Cape Horn Ushuaia – Argentina Transit Beagle Channel Punta Arenas – Chile Chacabuco – Chile Puerto Montt – Chile Santiago – Chile Cruise by Easter Island Cruise by Pitcairn Island Papeete – Tahiti Bora Bora – Society Islands Pago Pago – American Samoa Lautoka – Fiji Islands Noumea – New Caledonia Brisbane – Australia Sydney – Australia Eden – Australia Philip Island – Australia Melbourne – Australia Hobart -Australia Transit Milford Sound Dunedin – New Zealand Christchurch – New Zealand Transit Marlborough Sound Wellington – New Zealand Auckland – New Zealand Nuku ‘Alofa – Tonga Apia – Western Samoa Christmas Island Honolulu – Oahu, Hawaii Kahalui – Maui, Hawaii Los Angeles – USA Acapulco – Mexico Huatulco – Mexico Transit Panama Canal Curacao – Dutch Antilles Margherita Island – Venezuela Barbados Ponta Delgada

The Luxury:

This is on a very luxurious Cruise Ship that has only outside or balcony cabins.

By Freighter

In 2005 a trip around the world lasting 102 days by various freighting companies could be had for ,750 per person. That is 7 per person per day including food and all facilities. That is 00 per couple per month.

This same couple would spend a minimum of 00 a month in an old folks home.

So going on this 3 1/2 month World Cruise would cost them 00 – 00 = 00 per month.

For this you get a double suite with double occupancy. Port Times range from 1 to 2 days. The advantage seems to be that there is lots of space in four double suites.

The double suites all consist of two rooms, a bedroom with twin beds and a living room.

The cabins have showers. Each cabin also has its own VCR and TV monitor and refrigerator.

On board facilities are a private passenger lounge and the sharing of the officers’ table

There is also an indoor swimming pool.

Cruise Hopping

This is cheaper yet. There are lots of 7 day cruises for about 0 per day per passenger. So you could conceivably take 7 day cruises continuously in the same area, say, the Caribbean, on the same ship, or on different ships until you get sick and tired of the area.

You can then do the same thing from the West Coast.

Logistics would be more difficult because you may need a place to stay every 7th night.

Discount Cruising

Effective in 2005 there is now a discount European Cruise Line operating in the Caribbean that charges per person per night but you have to get your own food.

Maximum time they allow you to cruise is 2 weeks.

Still, can’t get any cheaper than this.

So, if you want to live on a Cruise Ship, it can be done in a variety of different ways.

English/French subtitles. — SYNOPSIS Today in Latin American countries, introduction of fast food, such as McDonald’s, grows up. There is one exception, Bolivia: a country with a strong indigenous tradition – cooking and popular food. In December 2002, the transnational fast food corporation Mc Donald’s had to close its restaurants in Bolivia. Why did McDonald’s fail in Bolivia? Through six intimate stories with renowned cooks and a review of popular sayings about the Bolivian food, travel by the variety of its flavor, you’ll discover that love is in this home cooking, the market, the barter and the low cost of one of the cuisines that has not been recognized yet.

If you want to get on in today’s world, speaking just English is not enough anymore. It really pays of to speak another language. Reasons to learn it can be practical, intellectual, aspirational or even sentimental, but it clearly helps to have a clear idea of why you are learning. Below you can find 15 reasons to learn Spanish. Pick your own ones. 1) To speak with more than 500 million people worldwide and over 40 million in the USA who speak Spanish. It is the second most widely spoken language in the world. 2) To enjoy ALL the channels on your cable TV 3) To say hello (hola) to your neighbor. Nowadays you can find Spanish-speaking people throughout the United States, not just in the Mexican border states. 4) To order a meal in a real Mexican restaurant with no help. 5) To be able to communicate with your Spanish-speaking co-workers. 6) To secure your job. Bilingual people have more career choices. If you happen to work in the healthcare industry or in education your career opportunities will expand significantly. And of course, it looks great on a resume. 7) To enjoy traveling in Spain, Mexico, Cuba, Chile, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, Ecuador, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Puerto Rico, Panama, etc. Traveling these countries speaking English only is possible, but speaking Spanish opens up new doors and let’s you experience new things. Because learning Spanish is fun! You can experience new music, food, movies, & much much more. 9) To make new friends among people who don’t speak English. 10) Spanish is one of the easiest foreign languages to learn. Much of its vocabulary is similar to English’s. Moreover, it gives you a solid base to learn other Latin-based languages such as French and Italian. 11) To be able to enjoy one of the warmest and richest culture on earth, the Latino culture. 12) To develop your creativity – language stimulates your imagination. Every language has its own expressions and ideas that other languages simply don’t have. 13) To help you improve your thinking skills. Speaking another language means seeing the world in another way too. 14) To help others around you who may not speak English. 15) Last but not least, to age more slowly. Studies show that by learning a new language you can halt the age-related decline in your mental functions. Learning Spanish is fun, brings you new experiences and new friends, so the sooner you start, the better… go ahead!

Belgium chocolates and Belgium waffles have made this small European country famous around the world. But Belgium offers more than just sweets and breakfast items. In fact, Belgium is known for hosting more street and music festivals than any other country in Europe. After all, this is where the Saxophone was invented, by Adolph Sax, in 1846. Belgium’s historical sites, small towns, and peaceful countryside make it an excellent destination for inquisitive travelers.

Belgium is both multicultural and multilingual. Flanders, in the north, is a land surrounded by canals that hosts medieval art cities such as Antwerp, Bruges and Ghent. Wallonia, in the south, leads you to the hills of the Ardennes, countless castles, and the cities of Liege, Namur, and Tournai. Brussels, the capital, is one of the world’s great cosmopolitan cities, home to the European Union, NATO and the Atomium monument. All these cities and regions are connected through a train network that makes it easy and simple to hop on and hop off at your desired destination.

What to do?

Christmas in Belgium, with Christmas markets in Brussels, Bruges, Liege, Antwerp and in other cities, is really an experience you cannot miss. Every winter, Brussels features a magical decor, superb Christmas market, illuminated Big Wheel, roundabouts, street activities, music and the famous skating rink. Winter in Bruges is a month long celebration of the holidays with carillons concerts, Christmas markets and processions making it an original Christmas wonderland.

Looking for something to do during your vacations? Belgium has become the hot destination in Europe for the 20-30 something set. Students and young travelers are gathering at cities like Brussels, Antwerp, Leuven and Namur for stylish shopping, inexpensive hotels, great food, and a pulsating nightlife.

Looking for rest and relaxation? Belgium offers you the original Spa. Located in the middle of the Ardennes and surrounded by forests and rivers, the city of Spa is famous for the mineral springs that initiated the hydro-therapy industry centuries ago. In addition, Belgium offers 67 km of coastline along the North Sea in the Flanders region where you will find beautiful beaches such as De Panne, Ostend, De Haan and Knokke-Heist.

Where to eat?

Trendy cafes throughout Belgium are crowded with students and young professionals. In most places you will find Brussels legendary “frietkots” where they serve Belgian fries for those who want to hang out after the restaurants close. For those blessed with a sweet tooth, Belgium can be paradise offering exquisite chocolates, pralines, and waffles. For more information, here is a complete list of restaurants.

Visas & Documents

Visas for stays of no more than 3 months are required by all except EU/EEA nationals and citizens from Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Croatia, Hong Kong, Japan, Mexico, United States, United Kingdom and other countries. A uniform type of visa, the Schengen visa, is issued for tourist, business and private visits. All visas cost either US (short stay; up to 90 days) or US (long stay). For more information, contact the Belgium embassy or consulate in your country.

While the best may be relative to each of us, most would agree that when speaking about the best places for a honeymoon vacation, could be summarized into the following:

1.Las Vegas – The Sin City, as some would call it, Las Vegas is one of the best places to set your honeymoon vacation. The City would provide one of the greatest and most luxurious accommodations in the world combined with every kind of entertainment in virtually each corner of the City. The lights, sounds, casinos, all types of restaurants, spas, and entertainment center will surely complete the Las Vegas honeymoon.

2.Hawaii – Many newlyweds would choose to spend their honeymoon in an island while enjoying the sun, doing water activities, and staying at luxurious beach hotel. And Hawaii will certainly give all of these.

3.Caribbean – Visiting one of the many island countries in the Caribbean would surely satisfy every bit of excitement to newlyweds. The tropical sun, coupled with fresh air and foods together with accommodations at its best are enough reasons why couples spend their honeymoon at the Caribbean.

4.Europe – If white sands, sun, and water do not appeal to you, then Europe can provide the best alternative. See the European architecture, arts, and sights that reflect the history, heritage and legacy to this small but highly urbanized continent. No other places in the world could package their culture and civilization perfectly than Europe. For couples who want to spend their honeymoon in one of the countries in Europe, dissatisfaction is nowhere in the picture.

5.Fiji – Friendly people, beautiful beach resorts, magnificent shorelines, lots of foods, and water sport activities could be enough reasons for you to spend your honeymoon in Fiji. This tropical paradise located haft way around the world provides everything you want to experience; luxury, fun, and perfect climate,

6.Mexico – This country features a wide array of honeymoon vacation options ranging from a Latina City experience to a private and remote resort. Hotels and other great accommodations are located across the country. Resorts are at their best at secluded regions. Foods provide a unique experience to your tongue and the Mexican sound sends please at the ears.

7.South America – Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Chile, Bolivia, Columbia, and other countries in the South American region provide a good venue to set your honeymoon. Each of these countries provides a one-of-a-kind experience to couple who wishes to enjoy their first days of married life.
